About Tim Venturi
In January of 2009 Tim was diagnosed with bladder cancer. For nine months he underwent painful treatments here in the valley in hopes of saving his bladder. After the last set of treatments his doctor gave him the painful truth that there was nothing more that could be done. He sent Tim to Loma Linda Medical where he was told the only way to save his life was to completely remove his bladder. On September 11 Tim checked in for what was to be a routine surgical procedure. The surgery came off without a hitch, but it was the post surgical time that put us all in for a long hard battle. He ended up in Intensive Care, not once but three times during his two and half month stay at Loma Linda. He was in a coma for 2 1/2 weeks at which that time they gave him only a 20 percent chance of survival. He has made a remarkable recovery thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Loma Linda, to whom we owe a great deal of loving appreciation. Bladder cancer is the 4th most common cancer among men and 5th most common overall. A basic awareness of the symptoms and early treatment could save lives and prevent suffering.

You don’t need to be an art aficionado to enjoy the Indian Wells Arts Festival. It’s designed to create a festive event experience and community celebration. Everyone loves to watch the on-site demonstrations including sand sculpture, glass blowing, painting, weaving, large scale stone sculpturing, larger-than-life mural painting, wood carving and pottery throwing.
With a celebrated reputation for its high quality and wide variety of fine art and quality craft, the Festival has been ranked one of the “100 Best Fine Art Shows in the country” by Sunshine Artist magazine; “Best of the Best” by Palm Springs Life magazine; and ranked in the top 100 in both fine art fairs and fine craft shows by Greg Lawler’s Art Source Book.
The creative synergy of demonstrating artists, local sponsors and non-profit partners enhances our venue with vibrant activity. The artisan village environment includes a Gourmet Market Place with gourmet specialties, Art Market offering art products, while sidewalk chalk drawing, children’s activities, wine tasting, live musical entertainment and refreshment add to the festive activities that are ongoing throughout the day. On Sunday, a special “Eggs in the Garden” brunch menu is available until noon.
The Festival incorporates a number of local charities as Festival Partners and donates to their art scholarship funds. Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will top the 2015 Stagecoach Country Music Festival, festival organizers announced Monday morning.
The ninth edition of the popular country music festival will take place, Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
Tickets for this year’s edition go on sale Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $269 for general admission, $799 for the corral area reserved seating and $799 for the corral standing pit.
While Stagecoach has always had some rock tucked away at the Palomino Stage, this year’s lineup has the most rock since 2008, when Eagles headlined a night and John Fogerty played.
Among the big guitars headed to Stagecoach are Texas bluesmen ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and Eric Burdon and the Animals.
As always, the festival brings some of the biggest up-and-coming names in country as well as taps legends to perform.
Also on the bill for this year’s festival are Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Merle Haggard, Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Sara Evans and more.
McGraw, Owen, Moore, Musgraves and Haggard are scheduled for Friday, April 24. The bill that day also includes The Devil Makes Three, Parmalee, The Time Jumpers with Vince Gill, Dawn Sears, Kenny Sears and Ranger Doug Green, Sturgill Simpson, The Lone Bellow, Parker Millsap, Brothers Osborne, The Handsome Family, Lydia Loveless, Pegi Young, Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys and Cam Ochs.
On Saturday, Lambert, Bentley, Moore and ZZ Top will perform. Other artists include Eli Young Band, Cassadee Pope, the cast of the hit show “Nashville,” featuring Charles Esten, Clare Bowen and Chris Carmac, Steve Earle, The Cadillac Three, Mac Davis, Nikki Lane, John Moreland, John & Jacob, The Quebe Sisters Band, Daniel Romano, Della Mae, Clare Dunn, Anais Mitchell and Old Salt Union.
Shelton, The Band Perry, Evans and Thorogood top the closing night of entertainment, but Sunday will also include sets from Jerrod Neimann, Frankie Ballard, The Oak Ridge Boys, Hot Rize, Outlaws, The Swon Brothers, Maddie & Tae, Chris Janson, Keith Anderson, Chatham County Line, Logan Brill, Luke Amelang, Ben Miller Band and Andrew Combs.
All of the headlining acts are return headliners for the festival. Shelton, who is a celebrity coach on “The Voice,” performed at San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore on Sunday night.
He and wife Lambert performed at the festival in 2012.
McGraw, however, is making his first stop at Stagecoach since 2008.
RV camping options run $550-$950 and include a tax from the City of Indio. Those interested in camping must fill out a form by Thursday, Oct. 9. From there, applications will be randomly selected to fill out the spots. Those who camped in 2014 do not need to re-apply. They already have been notified of the camping options.
Stagecoach is offering layaway options again for 2015. Also, children 10 and under get into the general admission area of the festival for free. (If you are purchasing the VIP Corral passes, the kids will need them, too, unless they’re two or younger.)
In June, the popular country music festival mimicked its hipster cousin, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and put a limited number of tickets for the following year’s event on sale on its website.

What to Bring
Sunscreen, hats, comfortable shoes, and binoculars are “must-haves” at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Small-beach type lawn chairs and golf stools are also permitted.
Coolers, backpacks, large bags, and memorabilia will not be allowed on the premises at any time. Cell phones must be placed on silent. Pagers are not permitted. Cameras are only permitted Monday through Wednesday. Cameras are strictly prohibited Thursday through Sunday.
Grandstands are located on the 1st tee, 9th green, 10th tee, 17th tee, and 18th green with seating on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no reserved seating.

“One Day Since Yesterday: Peter Bogdanovich & The Lost American Film” is the story of maverick film director Peter Bogdanovich’s love for both the late Dorothy Stratten and his “lost” film “They All Laughed.” Murdered by her estranged husband as Bogdanovich was editing “They All Laughed,” “One Day Since Yesterday” summons up the romance, heartbreak and devotion present as Bogdanovich bought his film back from the studio when they studio threatened to shelve it, and his efforts to distribute it himself, almost to his own ruin. A real life love story of passion and belief in the power of art. “One Day Since Yesterday” is an homage to the lost era of the 70s American Auteur, staking a claim for “They All Laughed” as the last great film of that time.
Through the story of Peter’s journey with “They All Laughed,” “One Day Since Yesterday” explores all of Bogdanovich’s career (The Last Picture Show,Saint Jack, What’s Up Doc, Paper Moon), and his challenges to see his personal vision vindicated in an era unsympathetic to the bold and unique visions he risked it all on. This Thanksgiving weekend, take part in one of Southern California’s most anticipated cultural events of the year with the annual Indio Powwow, located just minutes from Palm Desert in Indio, California.
Celebrate all weekend long with the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and tribes from across the United States and Canada as they come together to show off their dancing and singing skills through traditional competitions. Enjoy Native American dancing, drum contests, peon games and bird singing. Event visitors can also join dancers in the arena during selected times to participate in a non-competitive intertribal dance.
While you’re there, savor delicious Native American foods, including Indian fry bread, and browse through vendor booths to shop for hand-made jewelry, dream catchers and other Native American arts and crafts. Be sure to stay for the Grand Entry – which takes place on all three days of the event – to see all of the tribes come together with a dance precession to kick off the competitions.
Attending the Event
The Powwow will take place at the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians’ Special Events Center at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, and the festivities will begin on Friday, November 29th at 5:00 p.m. Head back out on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 to see the rest of the Powwow, which starts at 11:00 a.m. on both days, but make sure to experience the Grand Entry on all three days, which is a definite must-see.
